The recipients of the 2026 Legion of Rowers Awards are seven grateful rowers from the North Island. This year the Legion is in a position to award $4,000 to each rower covering around 20% of their campaign costs and helping these talented young rowers represent New Zealand on the world stage. The funding for these awards comes from the Legion of Rowers $3,000 (North Island Masters rowers and Legion members) and our sponsor - C&R Insurance and ICIB Brokerweb Ltd $1,000.

The team will represent New Zealand at the Junior World Rowing Championships Plovdiv, Bulgaria, from August 6 to August 9, 2026.

From a Rowing NZ perspective, the aim is to see rowers develop and thrive in a high-performance environment, working together with their teammates, coaches and the support staff to achieve your optimal results at the U19 World Championships. The experience prepares the rowers for the next step in their pathway, so they gain the knowledge and tools to continue their development.

We all wish them the very best as they compete on the international stage.
