Boat & Gear Insurance Policy for Legion Members
Group Policy Insurance Administration Disclosure
Our Role
The Legion acts solely as a group policy administrator and intermediary. We facilitate the collection of premiums and provide administrative access to a group policy for the benefit of our members. The Legion is not an insurer and does not provide
insurance cover directly.
The Insurer
Your insurance contract is underwritten by Lloyd’s of London (arranged via Ando Insurance Group) and coordinated by our brokers, C&R Insurance Brokers NZ. The Legion is not a party to the technical terms of your coverage.
Duty of Disclosure
It is your sole responsibility to provide true and complete information in your proposal. Failure to disclose "Material Facts" (as defined in the Ando Commercial Hull Policy) may result in your claim being declined.
Your Responsibilities
Your boat and other gear must be stored INSIDE a secure building at the designated address (rowing club, home address) that you provide to the Brokers, except when being used at, or traveling to, a regatta. In the event that you change the storage location, you are required to immediately advise the Brokers of that change, failing which your boat and other assets may not be covered under the policy.
The policy is only open to members of the Legion of Rowers Incorporated. In the event that renewal of the annual Legion policy falls after you cease to be a member of the Legion, then you will be unable to renew your insurance under the policy accordingly.
Claims and Excesses Notification
You must notify the broker directly of any claim.
Payment of Excess: The member is unequivocally liable for any policy excess (deductible) as specified in the Policy Schedule.
Settlement: Any claim settlement will be made net of the applicable excess. The Legion accepts no liability for the payment of excesses or any costs not covered by the insurer.
Liability Disclaimer
The Legion is not liable for any claim rejections, delays in processing, or financial losses arising from a member's failure to comply with policy warranties or disclosure requirements.
