National Masters Panel
The National Masters Panel is an advisory group to Rowing New Zealand (RNZ), providing a national voice for Masters rowing. Its role is to listen to the Masters community, identify issues and opportunities, and provide practical advice and recommendations to RNZ.
Its key role is to:
Connect with the Masters community and bring together a range of views and experiences from rowers, clubs and regions.
Advise RNZ on matters affecting Masters rowing, including participation, events, coaching, development, communication, recreational and competitive rowing, touring and coastal rowing.
Identify emerging issues and opportunities and test proposed RNZ initiatives from a Masters perspective.
Maintain and advance the National Masters Strategy and Strategic Roadmap, turning the strategy into practical ideas and proposals for RNZ to consider.
Improve communication and connection across the national Masters rowing community.
Represent a range of perspectives, rather than acting as formal delegates or representatives of particular clubs, regions or groups.
Work within the RNZ structure, collaborating with Member Associations, clubs and other stakeholders where matters affect the wider rowing community.

Who we are looking for
We would like to hear from people who are actively connected with Masters rowing and are willing to contribute their experience, networks, ideas and practical judgement. Extensive governance experience is not required. Applicants should be able to:
listen to and fairly convey a range of Masters perspectives, including views they may not personally share;
help maintain and advance the National Masters Strategy and Strategic Roadmap;
develop constructive and practical proposals for RNZ's consideration;
work collaboratively with RNZ, clubs, Member Associations and other parts of the rowing community; and
act in the interests of rowing in New Zealand as a whole.

Expressions of interest open: 19 September
Expressions of interest close: 3 October
Applicant discussions: shortlisted candidates may be asked to be available for a discussion between the closing date and the appointment date
Appointments confirmed: 30 October
Initial meeting: date and format :TBC
